Employee fundraising partnerships

Network Rail is enjoying an exciting year of fundraising after getting on board with Cancer Research UK.

Official Charity of the Year

Network Rail staff voted Cancer Research UK to be their Charity of the Year for 2006.

The key aims of the partnership are:

• To promote health awareness to all staff, helping them make informed choices about prevention and treatments for cancer
• To raise a total of £200,000 for Cancer Research UK through employee involvement in a comprehensive programme of fundraising events and campaigns

Employee fundraising for everyone

Network Rail employ more than 32,000 staff to run, maintain and develop Britain's tracks, signalling system, rail bridges, tunnels, level crossings, viaducts and 17 key stations.

Staff in sites and offices across the UK are teaming up to fundraise through lots of themed challenges, like sponsored slims, walks and runs, and a Golf Day - to name but a few.

They are also contributing in many other ways such as Payroll Giving and stock donation. There will be station collections too so that Network Rail's customers are included in the fundraising.

Such a wide-ranging approach to fundraising ensures that all employees can play their part in the partnership.
