Tesco
Tesco have been the National Presenting Sponsor of Race for Life for the past six years. In that time the series has grown from 120,000 participants to 750,000 today and still growing. Tesco have worked with us to make this the the largest mass participation event series in Europe.
Why Tesco sponsors Race for Life
Tesco have over 12 million customers each week, 80 per cent of which are female. Also, 80 per cent of its employees are female, meaning there is a really strong fit, for both customers and staff. Tesco entered a team of over 25,000 employees, all raising sponsorship funds, which Tesco matched.
The event series was promoted to customers in all stores, more than 1,000 nationwide, in the lead-up to the start of the series. This increased participant numbers and awarensss of the series, enhancing the Cancer Researh UK brand.
For Tesco, Race for Life offers a great way of getting customers and staff together in a local community event. With over 240 events across the UK there are races close to stores, making it very accessible for customers and staff to participate.
The partnership allows Tesco to demonstrate their their commitment to customers in promoting an active and healthy lifestyle for all. It is also a great team building exercise for staff, uniting employees behind the motivating nature of the cause and boosting morale.
